

​​Need help applying for the NDIS?
​
If you have a disability and don’t yet have NDIS funding, you’ll need to apply for the NDIS directly through the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

This page explains the steps to apply in a way that’s simple and easy to follow.
Step 1: Eligibility
​​
You can apply if you:

Are aged between 9 and 65 years old

Are an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or Protected Special Category Visa holder
-
Have a permanent disability that makes daily life hard

Step 2: Get your documents ready
​
​You'll need:​

A letter or report from your doctor or health professional

Any reports about how your disability affects your life

Step 3: Apply to the NDIS
​
You can apply in two easy ways:
1. Call the NDIS on 1800 800 110 and tell them you want to make an Access Request.
2. Fill out the Access Request Form, which can be downloaded by clicking below:

Once your form is filled out, email it to: enquiries@ndis.gov.au or give it to your local NDIS office.

Step 4: Wait for the NDIS decision
​
After you apply, the NDIS will check your form and documents. They’ll contact you to let you know if your application was accepted.
If you’re approved, you’ll have a planning meeting to create your NDIS plan.
Remember: you don’t apply through us
